FAMILY FUN AT EASTNOR STEAM AND WOODLAND BANK HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR!
The hugely popular annual Steam and Woodland Fair returns to Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, on Sunday 29th and Bank Holiday Monday 30th May between 10.30am and 5.00pm. Last year over 5000 visitors enjoyed a nostalgic day with the sights and smells of the Victorian era. An impressive line-up of Steam engines will be fired up in the courtyard in front of the castle before setting off on a road run across the Malvern Hills There will also be traditional countryside pursuits with gun dog, birds of prey and ferret racing displays throughout the day. In the Woodland area the British Lumberjack Sports Association will be wielding their axes with some spectacular arena displays. Chainsaw carving, forestry skills and tree climbing will be demonstrated alongside the more sedate fine furniture makers, wood-turners, coppice crafts and goods from the woods to buy. The show offers an action-packed weekend of family activities including archery, laser clay shooting and mini Land Rover 4x4 driving and a children's tug of war with a working steam engine, There will also be a pig roast and bar selling local beers and cider. The Eastnor Castle Steam and Woodland Fair now enjoys a national reputation as one of the best events of its kind: “One of the most enjoyable shows I went to last year was held over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire. This imaginative Steam and Woodland Fair combined demonstrations of steam power alongside forestry activities, which made for a very interesting day out.” Brian Gooding Editor of Vintage Spirit Admission prices: Adults £7.00, Senior Citizens £6.00, Children £4.00 Family (2 Adults & 3 Children) £18.00 - Price includes entry to the Fair, Castle and Grounds For further information, please call 01531 633160 |
